Starting in Vancouver, this vacation offers travelers the opportunity to travel on VIA Rail's scenic Skeena line. Enjoy your time in the capitol of British Columbia until you board VIA Rail's "Canadian" train and head for Jasper National Park; the starting point of the Skeena line. From here you will makes stops in towns like Prince George and Prince Rupert before boarding a flight back to Vancouver. The Skeena is a wonderful way to discover Western Canada's scenery, native culture and other attractions.

Day 1 - Vancouver
Upon arrival into Vancouver, transfer independently to your downtown hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore.

Day 2 - Vancouver / VIA Rail to Jasper
Your day is free to explore the city of Vancouver. You may wish to visit the local attractions such as the Vancouver Aquarium, The Lookout Tower, the Vancouver Art Gallery or the walk along the sea wall. This afternoon, transfer by taxi (included) to the Pacific Central Station and board VIA Rail’s "Canadian" to Jasper. This experience, with its award-winning service, is luxury on rail. Points of interest include Hell’s Gate, Suicide Rapids in the North Thompson Canyon, and the Cisco Tunnels above the Fraser River. Dinner is included onboard the train this evening.

Day 3 - VIA Rail to Jasper (arrival)
Today, travel between the Monashee and Cariboo mountain ranges before ending the train journey in the resort town of Jasper. A full breakfast is included onboard the train today. Upon arrival at the Jasper train station, a motor coach or taxi will transfer you to your hotel (transfer included).

Day 4 - Jasper
Experience Jasper National Park through the travels of the early explorers and view the unspoiled grandeur! This morning excursion will begin along the mighty Athabasca Canadian Heritage River, learning about David Thompson and the valley ecosystem. Travel above Maligne Canyon, with its narrow gorge and limestone walls created by 10,000 years of water flow. Visit a place of mystery and Indian legend en-route to Medicine Lake, where sometimes it actually disappears! On the adventure to Maligne Lake, the largest natural lake in the Canadian Rockies and one of the most photographed sites in the world, you are sure to see a variety of mountain wildlife.

Day 5 - Jasper to Prince George
This morning transfer to the Jasper train station (transfer included), and board VIA Rail’s “Skeena”, Totem Class bound for Prince George. Lunch and dinner is included today. After crossing into the province of British Columbia, you will pass by Mount Robson, the Rockies’ highest peak. Your route follows the famous Fraser River; keep your eyes open for grizzly, moose, beaver and osprey. Upon arrival in Prince George train station, transfer by taxi (included) to your hotel.

Day 6 - Prince George to Prince Rupert
This morning, return to the Prince George train station (taxi included) and re-board VIA Rail’s “Skeena” for your continuing journey to the west coast city of Prince Rupert. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included today. Your journey today takes you up the stunning Skeena River Valley. Upon arrival in Prince Rupert train station, transfer by taxi (included) to your hotel.

Day 7 - Prince Rupert
A 1.5 hour cruise around Kaien Island is the highlight of this day at leisure in the quaint coastal town of Prince Rupert. During the cruise, see WWII military installations, Reversing tidal rapids at Butze Rapids and Zanardi Rapids. Also during the voyage, there will be a good possibility of sighting porpoise, harbour seals and eagles.

Day 8 - Prince Rupert to Vancouver
Today, transfer (included) to the Prince Rupert Airport and fly to Vancouver (included). Your package ends upon arrival at the Vancouver International Airport.
