Day 1 Vancouver to Lac Le Jeune
Begin your vacation with an early morning rental car pickup in Vancouver, and drive to peaceful Lac Le Jeune. Travel along either the Coquihalla Highway via Merritt (highway toll not included on this route) or the Trans-Canada Highway via the Fraser Canyon, where you can stop at Hell's Gate and other great viewpoints. Dinner included at Lac Le Jeune Resort. Overnight Lac Le Jeune. Day 2 Lac Le Jeune to Banff This morning, take a cruise on Lake Minnewanka (seasonal*), highlighted by jagged peaks, hoodoo clusters and Devil's Gap. In the afternoon, visit the Whyte Museum (admission not included). This afternoon you'll travel by horseback on a trail ride that includes a cook-out. Overnight Banff. Day 3 Discovering Banff Explore the wonders of world-famous Banff National Park, a scenic alpine town that's also a centre for arts and entertainment, shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Luxuriate in the mineral waters of the newly-renovated Upper Hot Springs and ride the Banff Gondola for a 360 degrees look at Banff and the Bow Valley. Also included in your package is admission to the Cave & Basin National Historic Site. Overnight Banff. Day 4 Banff to Jasper Sightseeing Today you will drive to Jasper via Canada's most spectacular mountain highway - the Icefields Parkway. Be sure to stop and explore, take pictures, enjoy the peaks, valleys, waterfalls, glaciers and turquoise lakes. A ride on the Ice Explorer (seasonal*), visiting the Athabasca Glacier adjacent to the Columbia Icefields Interpretive Centre, is included in your package (April 15 - October 15 included). Begin a two-night stay in Jasper. Overnight Jasper. Day 5 Exploring Jasper Take time to discover Jasper and it's lovely surroundings on your own. Drive to Maligne Canyon and Maligne Lake, where you can take a scenic lake cruise; try the Whistlers tramway for a panoramic view of the townsite and surrounding area; or head eastward to Miette Hot Springs. Suggested options are not included in this vacation. Overnight Jasper Day 6 & 7 VIA Rail's 'Canadian' from Jasper to Vancouver Return your rental vehicle in Jasper ($250.00 Cdn drop fee + tax not included *subject to change*) and begin the two-day rail portion of your vacation. An afternoon departure onboard VIA Rail's Silver & Blue class, will begin your overnight rail journey to Vancouver. You will travel along the tranquil North Thompson River, through B.C.'s Interior Plateau with its sagebrush and Ponderosa pines, and finally along the rugged Fraser Canyon past Hell's Gate into the Coast Mountain range. Your vacation concludes upon arrival in Vancouver. *When day tours or attractions are not operational in the off-season, the price will be adjusted or there will be an alternative excursion/attraction made available.*

Deluxe: An outstanding property offering high standards of accommodations and facilities. It is important to note though, that Deluxe accommodation refers only to the Hotel Class and not to the room category included in the package price. Some Deluxe hotels are heritage properties that possess historical elegance, but may not reflect current North American deluxe hotel standards. Room upgrades may be available at an additional cost.
Moderate: A property that offers limited hotel facilities and North American standard room features such as a television, telephone, one or two beds, private washroom with shower and/or bathtub (unless otherwise noted). Rooms may be smaller than Deluxe hotel rooms and the public areas may be also be smaller and simpler. Usually suitable for the cost-conscious traveller. |
