Journey in pampered style on VIA Rail's 'Canadian' through Ontario's Great Lakes, across the mighty Plains and into the tranquil forests of the Canadian Rockies. Join expreienced driver/guides for an interpretive vacation through the renowned resort towns of Banff and Lake Louise. On a luxury motorcoach with large viewing windows and plenty of stops you will marvel at our mountain scenery.
Day 1 Arriving in Toronto
Arrive into Toronto and check into your hotel to begin your vacation. Overnight Toronto. Day 2 Exploring Toronto and Niagara Falls A full day sightseeing excursion to Niagara Falls (includes lunch) and a visit to historic Niagara-on-the-Lake. Return to Toronto for a second night. Overnight Toronto. Day 3 & 4 VIA Rail's 'Canadian' from Toronto to Jasper This morning, depart Toronto on VIA Rail's 'Silver and Blue' class. This service includes classic dining car, sightseeing dome car, games car, onboard showers and VIA's friendly hospitality. Journey through the forests and rugged rock plateaus of Northern Ontario to Winnipeg and the Great Central Plains (meals included). Overnight aboard VIA Rail. Day 5 Arriving in Jasper On your final leg of today's journey, you will travel through Edmonton towards the majestic Rocky Mountains. Breakfast and lunch are included onboard. Arrive into the alpine resort town of Jasper (late afternoon) and transfer to your hotel. Overnight Jasper. Day 6 Exploring Jasper This morning, enjoy our 'Discover Jasper' excursion. You will visit Medicine Lake, Maligne Canyon and take a 90 minute interpretive cruise of Maligne Lake. During your cruise (seasonal*) you will have the opportunity to photograph the famous Spirit Island, and learn about the history, geology, wildlife, and glaciology of the surrounding area. The afternoon is free to explore this mountain town. Overnight Jasper. Day 7 Jasper to Banff Sightseeing Today, travel south along the amazing Icefields Parkway, one of the most spectacular highways in North America. Tour to the Columbia Icefield and take an 'Ice Explorer' ride on the Athabasca Glacier (included April 15 - October 15). In the afternoon, after a brief stop in Lake Louise, you will arrive into the bustling resort town of Banff. Overnight Banff. Day 8 Discovering Banff The 'Discover Banff' excursion highlights your morning with a visit to the Cave & Basin National Historic Site. Photograph Lake Minnewanka, and learn of the history and environs of this townsite. Your final stop will be the Banff Gondola for a quick ride to the summit of Sulphur Mountain. Your afternoon is free to enjoy the many shops, restaurants and hiking trails of this friendly town. Overnight Banff. Day 9 Banff to Lac Le Jeune A morning departure from Banff takes you to Lake Louise and through the heart of the Canadian Rockies to Revelstoke (lunch included). Towering mountains and cascading waterfalls surround you as you travel through Kicking Horse Pass & Roger's Pass. Continue on to peaceful Lac Le Jeune resort for your overnight stay (dinner included). Overnight Lac Le Jeune. Day 10 Lac Le Jeune to Vancouver Following breakfast (included), you will travel to Vancouver via the Duffey Lake Road. Experience the grandeur of the Coast Mountain Range and the sparkling aqua blue waters of glacier-fed Duffey Lake. Make a brief stop in the resort town of Whistler, and follow the Sea to Sky Highway with great views of the ocean's inlets. A lunch stop at the historic town of Lillooet is included. Arrive into Vancouver (late afternoon) to complete your Canadian Treasurers vacation. *When day tours or attractions are not operational in the off-season, the price will be adjusted or there will an alternative excursion/attraction made available.
Choose any Thursday between the following date ranges as your vacation start date. Deluxe: An outstanding property offering high standards of accommodations and facilities. It is important to note though, that Deluxe accommodation refers only to the Hotel Class and not to the room category included in the package price. Some Deluxe hotels are heritage properties that possess historical elegance, but may not reflect current North American deluxe hotel standards. Room upgrades may be available at an additional cost. Moderate: A property that offers limited hotel facilities and North American standard room features such as a television, telephone, one or two beds, private washroom with shower and/or bathtub (unless otherwise noted). Rooms may be smaller than Deluxe hotel rooms and the public areas may be also be smaller and simpler. Usually suitable for the cost-conscious traveller. |
