Day 1 - Montréal
Upon arrival into Toronto, transfer independently to your downtown hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore.

Day 2 - Montréal to Québec City
Discovery of Montréal, the world’s second-largest French-speaking city, begins with a city excursion this morning. Highlights of this three-hour excursion include Old Montréal, Notre-Dame Basilica, a masterpiece of religious architecture in North America, Olympic Park with the world’s tallest inclined tower, Mount Royal Lookout from which the city all comes into view, McGill University, Montréal Harbour, St. Joseph’s Oratory, City Hall, Place Des Arts, a world class center for the performing arts; and the residential and financial districts. This afternoon, transfer on your own to the Montréal VIA Rail station for the train journey to Québec City. Dinner is included this evening onboard the train. Upon arrival at the Québec City VIA Rail station, transfer (not included) to your selected hotel.

Day 3 - Québec City
In the morning enjoy a sightseeing excursion of Québec City, the first French settlement in North America as well as the only walled city in North America. Highlights include the Plains of Abraham where the famous battle between the French and English armies took place in 1759; the Ramparts; the Latin Quarter; the National Assembly; Palace Royale; City Hall and a glimpse of modern Québec City are the perfect introduction to the city.

Day 4 - Québec City / VIA Rail to Halifax
The day is free to finish you explorations of Québec City. This evening, transfer on your own to the Québec City train station, then transfer by motor coach or van to Charny (transfer included) to board VIA Rail to Halifax.

Day 5 - Halifax
The rail journey to Halifax continues onboard the “Ocean”. From Québec City, travel through the rural communities of Quebec’s south shore to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. A late afternoon arrival and transfer on your own to your hotel begins your stay in Atlantic Canada. Breakfast and lunch are served onboard today.

Day 6 Halifax
The largest city in the Maritimes was founded in 1749 as a British Garrison town; its seafaring history is epitomized by the Bluenose II, an exact replica of the fastest schooner afloat during the days of sail power. The fortress on Citadel Hill, built by the British to repel the Americans, is now a National Historical Park. This morning, join a kilted driver/guide for a delightful three-hour excursion. The history and anecdote filled ride through the streets of Halifax will introduce you to one of North America’s most unique and captivating cities. Hear of Halifax’s war years and of the exploits of heroism of the citizens who lived through the devastating Halifax Explosion. View the historic properties, the Titanic Burial Site, the Spring Garden Road area, Province House, Old Town Clock, St. Paul’s Church, City Hall, Grand Parade, Government House and much more. Your excursion also includes a Scottish piper to pipe you through the Victorian Halifax Public Gardens and the Halifax Citadel National Historic Park (admission included). The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 7 - Halifax
Conclude your holiday with a transfer via scheduled airport service, taxi or limousine from your hotel to the airport (transfer not included).
